Visual Design Intern (SF)

Fluid is searching for a Design Intern with the passion, talent and experience to create truly innovative web experiences.

During your internship in our San Francisco offices, you will perform in a supportive design role on select accounts from concept to launch. You will be hands-on and conceptual, creating multiple design solutions as well as working collaboratively with your team – which will include other designers, user experience, account management and project management. You will work closely with your Creative Director, ACD, Art Director, Staff designers and Production throughout a project – interpreting creative requirements, executing design deliverables and iterating to perfection.

Experience:

0 to 1+ years experience in an interactive agency or working directly for a nationally recognized consumer brand, previous internship experience highly desirable.

Currently a student in an interactive, graphic design or animation degree program (highly desired but not required).

Responsibilities:

  • Follow creative direction, follow design patterns and extensions
  • Communicates proactively, checking in with CD, PM, Art Director and UX team to present progress at various stages of completion
  • Prepare detailed and accurate specifications for projects as required
  • Follow (and when necessary) create interactive style guides
  • Prepare files for HTML, Flash or Production
  • Ability to articulate ideas and thought process, exhibiting a proactive personality
  • Current with internet and software technologies used for creative work

Essentials:

  • Live a digital lifestyle! You should be an active participant in social media (Facebook, Twitter…)
  • Intermediate hands-on knowledge of full Adobe CS suite
  • A kick ass online portfolio
  • Basic understanding of image compression and file size optimization
  • Rigorous attention to detail and time management a must
  • Respectful and clear communicator
