Andrew Guldman

VP of Engineering

Andrew oversees all engineering work at Fluid, harnessing over 20 years of coding and technical design leadership with rigorous analysis and design practices. He thrives on conceiving innovative solutions to interesting problems, managing the product and services engineering teams and all product development at Fluid.

OK, time for some technical stuff – Andrew's current focus is Rich Internet Application development, primarily using Flash and Flex, with previous focus on building web applications with server-side Java. His expertise also includes relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server), XML, UML, Apache and Linux.

Prior to joining Fluid, Andrew was a senior engineer at the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, where he helped develop PRISM, the next generation policy underwriting system. PRISM was a distributed three-tier system written in Java and HTML on the client, Java on the server, and COBOL and DB/2 on the host. Inter-tier communication mechanisms included CORBA/IIOP, HTTP/Servlets, MQ Series, XML, and JDBC. Got it? Good, because few people do.

When relaxing between great feats of engineering, Andrew enjoys time with his family in almost as many activities as he does programming language - whitewater rafting, kayaking, skiing, snowboarding, trail running and playing the guitar and bass. Andrew holds a BS in Computer Science from Brown University.
