Demandware Partners with Fluid to Power HARMAN’s eCommerce
On July 7, Demandware announced that HARMAN International Industries will be powering all of their eCommerce sites with the Demandware Commerce platform. HARMAN manufactures audio equipment for home, theater, automotive, and other applications, and is the parent company of more than twenty brands including Harman Kardon, JBL, Becker, Lexicon, Infinity and others.
HARMAN initially launched three sites on the Demandware Commerce Cloud, those being JBL, Harman Kardon, and multi-brand site Harman Audio, with plans to launch additional sites in Asia and Europe. The sites were designed to create an immersive brand experience, combining rich imagery and product detail with advanced search and User-Generated Content. Key to this launch, Fluid provided end to end design and implementation services for these sites.
“At the core of this collaboration was Fluid’s build of a rock solid platform that HARMAN can utilize for global expansion, as well as launching new brands on the Demandware platform,” said Andrew Leibowitz, a Senior Account Director at Fluid. “From their initial investment, HARMAN now can build new sites around the globe far more economically and quicker to market, which will allow them to scale quickly and efficiently.”
Driving HARMAN’s adoption of Demandware’s cloud commerce solution was a need for a more flexible, scalable platform that is better able to support the growth of its online business. In partnering with Fluid, Demandware was able to deliver HARMAN a reliable solution that they are able to adapt and expand on easily regardless of channel, geography or device.
