What Brands Need to Know About Shoppable Pins on Pinterest
The Visual Web just got a whole lot more shoppable with Pinterest’s unveiling of Buyable Pins. Pinterest has long been known as a sales conversion powerhouse, and the addition of Buyable Pins means that brands on the platform are about to have their sales funnel get a lot less sticky. Rather than users having to redirect from Pinterest back to your brand’s homepage to make their purchases, select brands will soon feature posts with a blue “Buy it” button next to the Pin it button that allows users to make purchases directly from Pinterest. Here’s a video showing how it all works:
Pinterest has revealed that more than two million products will be available for purchase on the platform immediately upon the initial release, for which Pinterest teamed up with major retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Ethan Allen, Kate Spade, Cole Haan and Macy’s. Buy it buttons will appear on products posted to Pinterest by these companies, with a mobile launch starting later this month.
So What Does This Mean for Your Brand?
